We are finally home after a long hard week in pheonix. We went to pheonix for a 3 day weekend and ended up staying for a week, so that we could be there with family. Dave's dad has his good and bad days. He has said all of our names, and the grandkids names. When he had the ventilator out the first time, he was talking to us a little, and wanting his diet coke. It was so good to see him responding to us. Then he came down with neumonia and had a hard time breathing so they had to put the ventilator back in. They have to keep him heavily sedated while the tube is in, so he can't talk to us, but he is trying to comunicate by moving his fingers and holding one or two up to yes or no questions. We are hoping that the neumonia clears up soon, so that they can take him off of the ventilator and he can start getting better. It is so hard to see him like this, I can't believe this accident has happened. It almost seems unreal. I can't believe that you can go from happy and having fun in one second and like this the next. Ethan is having a hard time understanding all that is going on. He knows that Grandpa is hurt really bad, and keeps asking why he can't see him. When we first got the phone call about the accident and Ethan heard us talking he said "Mom, I can tell that this is really serious." and then he heard us talking about how the ATV landed on top of grandpa and he asked me in a serious tone "Mom, does that mean that grandpa is flat." And will he puff back up. You can't help but laughing at that. We figured he got it from watching spongebob squarepants, because when things land on top of him, he is flattened. What a nut! We just hope that with all the praying and fasting that everything will be fine and he will have a full recovery. We love him and wish him the best!
(Lisa, I hope you don't mind that I copied the pictures off of your blog since I don't have any.)

I'm so glad he's doing better. It sounds like it's been really rough with him getting sick and having to be put back on the ventilator again. I hope he continues to recover. I can't even imagine how hard that must be for you and Dave to see him like that.
I wish you guys were in Phoenix under better circumstances and we could have seen you. I hope we can see you guys soon!
We'll continue to keep Dave's dad and family in our prayers. Let me know if there's anything I can do for Dave's family here in Phoenix.
Hang in there!
