10 things about Ethan(monks)

1. Ethan was born on May 6, 2003. He weighed 7lbs. 1 oz. and was 21 1/2 inches long. I was in labor with him for 24 hours, he didn't want to come out I guess. He had a huge head, and huge feet. His head was always registering off the charts, and is still in the 90th%.He has always had his huge feet too. His shoe size was always a couple ahead of his friends. The doctor teased saying that if he would have had one more eye lash that I would have had to have a c-section with him, even though I probably should have anyway, because he literally plowed his way through.(sorry if that is a bit graphic for some of ya).

2. Ethan was the
first grandchild on both sides. Both sets of grandparents could hardly wait his arrival. He got quite alot of attention there for awhile.

3. Ethan started talking at such a young age, he was saying several words before he was even one. He has always been so smart and wants to know things that most kids his age wouldn't care about. I would always compare other kids to him, and think something was wrong with them because they weren't talking before they were one. But I finally realized that it wasn't the norm for most kids. He always asks me random questions about things, that I just can't believe a four year old would want to know, and he has always been like that. He is such a smart little guy!

4. Ethan absolutely
HATES to eat. He has ever since we started him on solid foods. He could go all day and never eat, and he would be fine. Every meal time, it is a fight to get him to eat. Some nights we tell him he can't leave the table until he is done, and a few hours later when it is bedtime, we finally have to put him to bed hungry. Or maybe he isn't hungry, since he won't eat. He won't try any new foods, and doesn't like much, so it is hard to fix meals for him. But he
HAS to have his milk, he
LOVES milk, which is rare for alot of kids.

5. Ethan has been attached to two little blankets ever since he was about 1 1/2, he started out calling them
"deedle dee's" and it has stuck ever since, the whole family refers to them as "deedle dee's". He called other blankets "blankets" but when it came to those two little things, they were "deedle dee's", and they still are. He can't sleep without them, although when he misbehaves, he has been known to lose them for a couple of days as punishment.

6. Ethan played
soccer this past fall for the first time. It was his first experience at playing a team sport. Let's just say that he
hated every minute of it. So Dave wasn't too thrilled with that. He said that he hated all the running. I do admit that the kids really didn't get the whole thing, so I think it was kindof boring for them because nobody really got what to do, so they just all ran around with the ball. We asked if he wanted us to sign him up for spring soccer, and he about had a fit. I wanted to sign him up for little league baseball but you had to be 5 by April, so he just barely missed the cut off, so maybe next time. Maybe he will like that a little better, or maybe we will have to wait until he is a little bit older.

7. Ethan started preschool this past fall, and he really loves it. He has learned so much. He can write all of his letters and numbers, and he can spell simple words. He is going to start kindergarten this fall and he can't wait. Everytime we drive by his elementary school, he says "that's my school that I am going to go to in a few months." I am just sick of the thought of sending him off out in the real world, and that he is actually old enough to be starting school. Where has the time gone?

8. Ethan is
absolutely obsessed with
transformers. He owns about every one that they make. His dad finally broke down and let him see the transformers movie. And he loved it so much! I think he has watched it about 10 times now. He always tells me that he wishes that transformers were real, so he could talk to them and play with them. He is going to be turning
5 in a couple of weeks, and can you guess what kind of party he wants?
TRANSFORMERS!!!! He is going to be inviting a bunch of his friends over for a fun little party, he is pretty excited!

9. Ethan can be such a
good little helper. He always helps me around the house, and he always watches out for Hannah, and helps me with her. Whenever Hannah is putting something in her mouth that she can't have, he sticks his fingers in and pulls it out. Whenever she is getting into something, he runs and pulls her away. He throws her diapers in the garbage for me, and wants to help Hannah do everything. He is such a great help! He always wants to help me make dinner or clean the house or do the laundry. I usually don't let him help me that much because it just takes me longer or makes what I am doing difficult. I guess I should be more patient and show him how to do things and let him help me out.

10. Ethan likes lifting weights with his dad. He honestly thinks that he has huge muscles. One day he came up to me and said "mom, see this huge fat part on my arm, and I said, yeah sure! And he said that is my big huge muscle from all my working out with dad." He is always telling people that he is so strong because of his big muscles. I think he gets it from hearing his dad say it all the time. Ha ha ha!

That is such a sweet tag for Ethan. I remember when we first met you guys and he was so little. It's crazy to think that it was so long ago. Hannah is so darling. Poor thing with her sicknesses and all. Hopefully she'll have a healthy summer.
That was cute. I love all the pictures. I can't believe he will be 5 either! Wow, seriously where does time go?
Thanks for playin' along.
