TRUNK OR TREAT!!

This past weekend our ward had a trunk or treat. Ethan and Hannah were so excited!! We carved some pumpkins to decorate our car, and Ethan had so much fun doing that, we even let him carve his very own. We had a really fun evening with our friends in our ward. They had chili and hot dogs and homemade rootbeer, and then all the kids went trick or treating! They even had a haunted house set up in the parking lot, Ethan and his friend Sam wouldn't dare go, so my friend and I took Hannah and Lucy!! Hannah was so excited about all the candy, her pumpkin was so full and heavy she could hardly lift it, but she freaked out when I tried to carry it for her, so she dragged it all over!! It was lot's fun!! The kids are looking forward to Halloween this week!!

Ethan and Hannah sitting in the back of our car waiting to go have dinner!

Hannah and her friend Lucy

We tried to get some pictures of us and the kids, but this is the only one we got, because they didn't want to hold still at all.

Hannah was so excited for all her candy, the first thing she had to have was a sucker, you can kind of see it in her mouth.

Ethan and his friend Sam had to sit in the car and go through all their candy, and ate like half of it.

Here is Ethan and his little pumpkin that he carved all by himself, he was so proud. He kept saying "mom, everyone is going to ask who made this, and I will say me! They won't even believe that I did it all by myself!!" What a nut!!

Here is a close up of his pumpkin, notice he drew hair all around it, and he even had to draw a bum on the back! He cut out ears on the side too! Dave and I got a good laugh, he didn't want to stop carving out things, and we told him it was going to be ruined if he didn't stop! He had so much fun doing this, this is actually the first year he has really gotten into carving the pumpkins!!

He said WHAT?!?!?

So today something happened that I have been dreading but knew would eventually happen! You know all those posts about how I just hate the thought of my son starting school and sending him out in this evil world where he will be taught bad things and will no longer be my innocent little boy? Well today, my fears came true!! He came home and told me that a kid in his class taught him a new word, but the teacher said it was bad and that they shouldn't say it. So we asked him what that word was, and he said "What the f-word"!! Dave and I were like WHAT!!!!! What did you just say?!?! So we had to have a little sit down and discuss how that was such a really bad word, and that we should never say that word ever!! My poor little innocent boy, he has never heard that word until today, and didn't realize how bad it was!! Dave and I just hope that he will remember what we told him and that he will never use it!! I can't believe it is already starting and he is only in kindergarten!!! I pray everyday that we can teach our kids to know right from wrong and always choose the right and that they will always remember what we teach them and never stray!! It is such an evil world out there and peer pressure is so strong!! You can be from a strong religious family and still give into the temptations of the world and fall so far away, I have seen it happen to my brother and what it has done to my parents and I just pray so hard everyday that, that won't happen to my kids!! It also doesn't help by living in Vegas, where your the only LDS kid in your class!!

Hannah and Emily posing for the picture! Amy and I ended up having the same outfits for the girls so we thought it would be fun to dress them just alike, and everywhere we went people thought they were twins.

Ethan and his cousin Ryan playing the Wii Fit, they love to play the Wii together, and can play it for hours.

Ethan and his cousin Hailey had fun picking up sticks or flowers and putting them in the water

Ethan loves being in SLC, with our families!
The kids and I went to Utah for a week while Dave was at a two week course in Tucson! We had so much fun visiting with our families and the kids loved playing with their cousins. I forgot my camera so I wasn't able to take any pictures, so Dave's parents sent me a disk with the pictures they took so I could post them on my blog. My sister in law from Phoenix was able to come into town also, so all the cousins were able to be together and they always have soooo much fun together. We love the opportunities we have to go visit with family in SLC, we have had several this summer and we have enjoyed everyone of them sooo much!!!
